Business, Lean, or Product Canvas are well known templates in product management and basic learnings in every pm courses. Do these models really help in the decision making processes and how are they best used?

      • Product roadmapping - Tools and experiences

The product roadmap is the guiding strategic document to communicate product strategy. It is the result of compiling available information on technology, markets and competition, taking into account the overall business strategy. Ultimately, it is a high-level summary helping to map out the vision and direction of top value pockets over time.
However, when it comes to the final step of creating the product roadmap, many struggle to find the best-suited tool. May be, this is the reason why Powerpoint is probably the roadmap tool #1 worldwide.
A hands-on session on roadmapping and available tools would be a great benefit.

          • Stakeholders and how to manage them: Get rid of bad surprises by fair and timely stakeholder management

Thorough management of product input and its sources often decides over success or failure. This session will start with a typical stakeholder situation role game and enable participants to identify legitimate and pathological stakeholders and sketch a possibility of classifying and prioritizing them according.

            • Product Portfolio prioritization with Innovation Games

I've been helping groups to prioritize their product portfolios using innovation games(tm), and would like to share experience and innovate new ideas with others. Games that I've used include Prune the product tree, Buy-a-Feature and Competitive Target (where we imagine what a competitor would need to do to take us out). I've done this with a combination of in-person and online games in situations where there is a large accessible employee or customer base who we want to hear from while in a face to face workshop. It is a lot of fun and has helped groups to seriously prune…

              • Conflict Management

Conflicts are not bad per se but first of all show that people care. However, conflicts need to be addressed before a substantial amount of energy goes into fuelling the conflict rather than the efforts to go for a great product. This session will start with a typical conflict situation role game and enable participants to identify conflicts, the conflicts, classify them into their typical categories as well as provide tools and methods for addressing them professionally.
